Why 10 seconds?
Ten seconds is the length most players use to compare click speed. It's long enough that one lucky burst can't carry your score, and short enough that you can keep your top speed almost all the way through. A 1-second test mostly measures how fast your first few clicks are; a 60-second test mostly measures stamina. Ten seconds sits in between and rewards a steady, fast rhythm.
Your 10-second best here is the same one kept on the main CPS test, so it doesn't matter which page you practise on. Use the buttons above if you want a different length.
What is a good 10-second CPS score?
| Clicks in 10 seconds | CPS | What it usually means |
|---|---|---|
| Under 50 | Under 5 | Relaxed, normal clicking |
| 50–70 | 5–7 | Average for normal clicking |
| 70–90 | 7–9 | Fast normal clicking |
| 90–120 | 9–12 | Very fast clicking or jitter clicking |
| Over 120 | Over 12 | Butterfly or drag clicking, usually on a mouse that registers extra clicks |
Most people slow down in the second half of a 10-second test. Watch the clicks-per-second figure while you click: if it drops a lot towards the end, practise relaxing your hand rather than squeezing harder.
How to get a better 10-second score
- Start at a pace you can hold. Going all out for the first two seconds often costs more than it gains.
- Keep your wrist resting and click from the finger, not the whole hand.
- Try jitter or butterfly clicking once your normal clicking stops improving.
- Do a few runs a day and watch your progress chart rather than chasing one perfect run.
Frequently asked questions
Does the timer start straight away?
No. The 10 seconds start on your first click, so you can get your hand ready first.
Is my score the same as on the main CPS test?
Yes. Both pages use the same test and share your 10-second personal best and history.
Can I challenge a friend?
